Summary This gene does not have any Entrez summary - the following is the summary from its human ortholog ENSG00000241978:
PALM2-AKAP2 mRNAs are naturally occurring read-through products of the neighboring PALM2 and AKAP2 genes. The significance of these read-through mRNAs and the function the resulting fusion protein products have not yet been determined. Alternative splicing of this gene results in several transcript variants encoding different isoforms, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been defined. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2010] The protein encoded by this gene binds to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A and is found associated with the actin cytoskeleton. The encoded protein mediates signals carried by cAMP and may be involved in creating polarity in certain signaling processes. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]
