Summary
CEBPB, one of the CEBP family members, is a crucial regulator of gene expression during innate immunity, inflammatory responses and adipogenesis. All of the individual CEBPB isoforms, LAP1, LAP2 and LIP, attenuate EGF-induced PTGS2 (COX-2) promoter activity.
CEBPB is a member of the CCAAT enhancer binding protein family and is a transcriptional factor regulating genes in innate immunity and inflammation. The activities of CEBP are regulated via methylation of arginine and lysine side chains.
CREB1 and CEBPB are involved in cytokine production in neutrophils in response to LPS and TNF.

Summary
[Mus musculus] Cebpb is a member of the CCAAT enhancer binding protein family and is a transcriptional factor regulating genes in innate immunity and inflammation. The activities of CEBP are regulated via methylation of arginine and lysine side chains.
[Mus musculus] LPS stimulation promotes the formation of CEBPB complexes on the Serpinb2 promoter to drive transcription.
[Mus musculus] Tnfaip3 is regulated by both Nf-κB and p38-dependent Cebpb in response to LPS in macrophages.
Entrez Gene
Summary The protein encoded by this intronless gene is a bZIP transcription factor which can bind as a homodimer to certain DNA regulatory regions. It can also form heterodimers with the related proteins CEBP-alpha, CEBP-delta, and CEBP-gamma. The encoded protein is important in the regulation of genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses and has been shown to bind to the IL-1 response element in the IL-6 gene, as well as to regulatory regions of several acute-phase and cytokine genes. In addition, the encoded protein can bind the promoter and upstream element and stimulate the expression of the collagen type I gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
This intronless gene encodes a transcription factor that contains a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) domain. The encoded protein functions as a homodimer but can also form heterodimers with CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteins alpha, delta, and gamma. Activity of this protein is important in the regulation of genes involved in immune and inflammatory responses, among other processes. The use of alternative in-frame AUG start codons results in multiple protein isoforms, each with distinct biological functions. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2013]
