Summary
[Homo sapiens] GATA4 activates the transcription of hepcidin antimicrobial peptide in hepatocytes. Friend of GATA (FOG) proteins, ZFPM1 and ZFPM2, moderate this transcription by suppressing the GATA transactivation of hepcidin promoter.
[Mus musculus] Gata4 activates the transcription of hepcidin antimicrobial peptide in hepatocytes. Friend of GATA (FOG)-proteins ZFPM1 and ZFPM2 moderate this transcription by suppressing the GATA transactivation of hepcidin promoter. (Demonstrated in human)
