IL1R1 is a substrate for presenilin-dependent gamma-secretase cleavage and intramembrane proteolysis may be a control mechanism for IL1R1-mediated signalling.
IL1R1 is essential for TLR9-dependent activation of tumour necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 3 (TRAF3) and for production of the anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-10 and type I interferon (IFN).
IL1R1 is the primary receptor for the inflammatory cytokine IL1B.
