Summary
Gbp7 is an IFN gamma-inducible gene that confers cell-autonomous immunity to listerial or mycobacterial infection within macrophages. Gbp7 interacts with host defense proteins, including phagocyte oxidase, antimicrobial peptides and autophagy effectors, to kill intracellular bacteria.
