| Summary |
The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor of the PR-domain protein family. It contains a PR-domain and multiple zinc finger motifs. Transcription factors of the PR-domain family are known to be involved in cell differentiation and tumorigenesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] This gene encodes a member of a family of proteins that may have roles in transcription and other nuclear processes. The encoded protein contains a KRAB (Kruppel-associated box) domain -A box and a SET (Su(var)3-9, Enhancer-of-zeste, Trithorax) domain and may function as a histone methyltransferase.
