Summary This gene does not have any Entrez summary - the following is the summary from its human ortholog ENSG00000185340:
The protein encoded by this gene, a member of the GAS2 family, is similar in sequence to the mouse protein Gas2, an actin-associated protein expressed at high levels in growth-arrested cells. Expression of the mouse Gas2 gene is negatively regulated by serum and growth factors. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
This gene encodes a member of the growth arrest-specific 2 protein family. This protein binds components of the cytoskeleton and may be involved in mediating interactions between microtubules and microfilaments. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 9. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]
