Disease Associations Note=Defects in Sox10 are the cause of the mouse mutant dominant megacolon (dom). While dom/+ heterozygous mice display regional deficiencies of neural crest-derived enteric ganglia in the distal colon, dom/dom homozygous animals are embryonic lethal.
