Last Modified 2014-10-13 [Report errors or provide feedback]
Gene Symbol DYNLL2
Protein Name Dynein light chain 2, cytoplasmic
Synonyms
Species Bos taurus
Ensembl Protein ENSBTAP00000006190
InnateDB Gene IDBG-629328 (DYNLL2)
Protein Structure
UniProt Annotation
Function Acts as one of several non-catalytic accessory components of the cytoplasmic dynein 1 complex that are thought to be involved in linking dynein to cargos and to adapter proteins that regulate dynein function. Cytoplasmic dynein 1 acts as a motor for the intracellular retrograde motility of vesicles and organelles along microtubules. May be involved in some aspects of dynein-related intracellular transport and motility. May play a role in changing or maintaining the spatial distribution of cytoskeletal structures (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
Subcellular Localization Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton {ECO:0000250}.
