Summary
InnateDB Protein IDBP-696575.2
Last Modified 2014-10-13 [Report errors or provide feedback]
Gene Symbol CLPP
Protein Name Putative ATP-dependent Clp protease proteolytic subunit, mitochondrial
Synonyms
Species Bos taurus
Ensembl Protein ENSBTAP00000019577
InnateDB Gene IDBG-643974 (CLPP)
Protein Structure
UniProt Annotation
Function Protease component of the Clp complex that cleaves peptides and various proteins in an ATP-dependent process. Has low peptidase activity in the absence of CLPX. The Clp complex can degrade CSN1S1, CSN2 and CSN3, as well as synthetic peptides (in vitro) and may be responsible for a fairly general and central housekeeping function rather than for the degradation of specific substrates (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
Subcellular Localization Mitochondrion matrix {ECO:0000250}.
