InnateDB Annotation
Summary
Bacterial cell wall glucosaminyl-muramyl dipeptides (GMDPs) bind to the transcription factor Ybx1 to upregulate Nfkb2 and Cxcr4 gene expression.
InnateDB Annotation from Orthologs
Summary
[Homo sapiens] CXCR4 is a chemokine receptor that is essential for homing of stem cells and more mature neutrophils to the bone marrow.
[Homo sapiens] MIR146A upregulation by CXCR4 antagonist AMD3100 treatment or ZBTB16 silencing, decreases CXCR4 protein expression and prevents HIV-1 infection of leukemic monocytic cell line and CD4(+) T lymphocytes.
Entrez Gene
Summary This gene does not have any Entrez summary - the following is the summary from its human ortholog ENSG00000121966:
This gene encodes a CXC chemokine receptor specific for stromal cell-derived factor-1. The protein has 7 transmembrane regions and is located on the cell surface. It acts with the CD4 protein to support HIV entry into cells and is also highly expressed in breast cancer cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with WHIM (warts, hypogammaglobulinemia, infections, and myelokathexis) syndrome. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
