InnateDB Annotation from Orthologs
Summary
[Mus musculus] Fzd1 has a role in the reciprocal regulation of the Toll-like receptor (TLR)/nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-kappaB) and the Wnt/beta-catenin pathway after aerosol infection of mice with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Fzd1 mRNA was significantly up-regulated during the course of infection in mice and its induction was dependent on TLRs, the myeloid differentiation response gene 88 (MyD88), and a functional NF-kappaB pathway.

Summary Members of the 'frizzled' gene family encode 7-transmembrane domain proteins that are receptors for Wnt signaling proteins. The FZD1 protein contains a signal peptide, a cysteine-rich domain in the N-terminal extracellular region, 7 transmembrane domains, and a C-terminal PDZ domain-binding motif. The FZD1 transcript is expressed in various tissues. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
