Bos taurus Protein: PFN2
Summary
InnateDB Protein IDBP-689738.2
Last Modified 2014-10-13 [Report errors or provide feedback]
Gene Symbol PFN2
Protein Name Profilin-2
Synonyms
Species Bos taurus
Ensembl Protein ENSBTAP00000014805
InnateDB Gene IDBG-637713 (PFN2)
Protein Structure
UniProt Annotation
Function Binds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG.
Subcellular Localization Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.
