Summary
InnateDB Protein IDBP-697894.3
Last Modified 2014-10-13 [Report errors or provide feedback]
Gene Symbol PTDSS1
Protein Name phosphatidylserine synthase 1
Synonyms PSS-1;
Species Bos taurus
Ensembl Protein ENSBTAP00000018461
InnateDB Gene IDBG-645205 (PTDSS1)
Protein Structure
UniProt Annotation
Function Catalyzes a base-exchange reaction in which the polar head group of phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) or phosphatidylcholine (PC) is replaced by L-serine. In membranes, PTDSS1 catalyzes mainly the conversion of phosphatidylcholine. Also converts, in vitro and to a lesser extent, phosphatidylethanolamine (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
Subcellular Localization Endoplasmic reticulum membrane {ECO:0000250}; Multi-pass membrane protein {ECO:0000250}. Note=Highly enriched in the mitochondria-associated membrane (MAM). {ECO:0000250}.
