Ly86 (MD-1) complexes with Toll-like receptor homolog Cd180 (RP105) to regulate the Ly96 (MD-2)/Tlr4-mediated lipopolysaccharide (LPS) response. Soluble Ly86 alone, in addition to its complex with Cd180, can regulate host LPS sensitivity.
