Summary |
This gene encodes a subunit of the centrosome, the main microtubule-organizing center of the cell. The encoded protein associates with another centrosomal protein, CEP152, to regulate mother-centriole-dependent centriole duplication in dividing cells. Disruption of a similar gene in human has been associated with primary microcephaly (MCPH). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014] |
