Species Mus musculus
Ensembl Protein ENSMUSP00000088779
InnateDB Gene IDBG-133518 (Atp11a)
Protein Structure
UniProt Annotation
Function Catalytic component of a P4-ATPase flippase complex which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled to the transport of aminophospholipids from the outer to the inner leaflet of various membranes and ensures the maintenance of asymmetric distribution of phospholipids. Phospholipid translocation seems also to be implicated in vesicle formation and in uptake of lipid signaling molecules (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
Subcellular Localization Cell membrane {ECO:0000250}; Multi-pass membrane protein {ECO:0000250}. Early endosome {ECO:0000250}. Recycling endosome {ECO:0000250}. Endoplasmic reticulum {ECO:0000250}. Note=Exit from the endoplasmic reticulum requires the presence of TMEM30A, but not TMEM30B. In the presence of TMEM30A, predominantly located in the plasma membrane (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
Disease Associations
Tissue Specificity Found in heart, muscle, liver and brain. Most abundant in heart. Also detected in fetal tissues.
