Gene Symbol RSF1
Protein Name remodeling and spacing factor 1
Synonyms
Species Homo sapiens
Ensembl Protein ENSP00000311513
InnateDB Gene IDBG-65690 (RSF1)
Protein Structure
UniProt Annotation
Function Required for assembly of regular nucleosome arrays by the RSF chromatin-remodeling complex. Facilitates transcription of hepatitis B virus (HBV) genes by the pX transcription activator. In case of infection by HBV, together with pX, it represses TNF- alpha induced NF-kappa-B transcription activation. Represses transcription when artificially recruited to chromatin by fusion to a heterogeneous DNA binding domain. {ECO:0000269PubMed:11788598, ECO:0000269PubMed:12972596}.
Subcellular Localization Nucleus {ECO:0000269PubMed:11788598, ECO:0000269PubMed:11944984}.
Disease Associations
Tissue Specificity Ubiquitously expressed.
