Synonyms trp6;
Species Bos taurus
Ensembl Protein ENSBTAP00000053428
InnateDB Gene IDBG-629235 (TRPC6)
Protein Structure
UniProt Annotation
Function Thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Probably is operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. Activated by diacylglycerol (DAG) in a membrane-delimited fashion, independently of protein kinase C (By similarity). Seems not to be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}.
Subcellular Localization Membrane {ECO:0000305}; Multi-pass membrane protein {ECO:0000305}.
