Summary
[Homo sapiens] F2RL1 and TLR4 interact in a synthetic agonist peptide-dependent manner and may support a novel paradigm of receptor cooperativity in inflammatory responses.
[Homo sapiens] F2RL1 is involved in inflammation and is specifically activated by mast cell-derived tryptase.
[Homo sapiens] Activation of F2RL1 stimulates IL6, IL8, and PTGER2 (prostaglandin E2) release from human respiratory epithelial cells, thus having an important role in modulating inflammation in the lung.
[Homo sapiens] F2RL1 cooperates with TLR2, TLR3, or TLR4 for activation of nuclear factor-kappaB-dependent signalling in mucosal epithelial cell lines.
[Homo sapiens] Activation of F2RL1 negatively regulates TLR3-dependent antiviral pathway, blunting the expression of TLR3/IRF3 driven genes, as well as activation of IRF3 and STAT1.
[Homo sapiens] F2RL1 (PAR2) activates MAPK14 (p38) to trigger production of innate immunity markers in oral kertainocytes.
[Homo sapiens] IL32 interacts with PR3 and F2RL1, triggering the PAR2-TRIF signalling axis, and IL32 may have a potential role in the transition from innate to adaptive immunity.
Entrez Gene
Summary This gene does not have any Entrez summary - the following is the summary from its human ortholog ENSG00000164251:
Coagulation factor II (thrombin) receptor-like 1 (F2RL1) is a member of the large family of 7-transmembrane-region receptors that couple to guanosine-nucleotide-binding proteins. F2RL1 is also a member of the protease-activated receptor family. It is activated by trypsin, but not by thrombin. It is activated by proteolytic cleavage of its extracellular amino terminus. The new amino terminus functions as a tethered ligand and activates the receptor. The F2RL1 gene contains two exons and is widely expressed in human tissues. The predicted protein sequence is 83% identical to the mouse receptor sequence. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
