[Homo sapiens] SAMHD1 is specifically targeted for degradation by human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) viral protein VPX, and mutations in SAMHD1 causes Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome, which mimics symptoms of congenital viral infection.
