Summary This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription from the neighboring fucose-1-phosphate guanylyltransferase (FPGT) and TNNI3 interacting kinase (TNNI3K) genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that are composed of in-frame exons from each individual gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010] This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAPKKK) family of protein kinases. The protein contains ankyrin repeat, protein kinase and serine-rich domains and is thought to play a role in cardiac physiology. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2012]
