Summary
[Homo sapiens] ELF1 transcription factor negatively regulates TOLLIP, a negative regulator of Toll-like receptor (TLR) signalling, in response to O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) modification. In intestinal epithelial cells, insufficient O-GlcNAc modification prevents ELF1-mediated transcriptional repression and thereby suppresses TLR signalling via upregulated TOLLIP gene expression.
[Mus musculus] Elf1 transcription factor negatively regulates Tollip, a negative regulator of Toll-like receptor (TLR) signalling, in response to O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) modification. In intestinal epithelial cells insufficient O-GlcNAc modification prevents Elf1-mediated transcriptional repression and thereby suppresses TLR signalling via upregulated Tollip gene expression. (Demonstrated in human)
Entrez Gene
Summary This gene does not have any Entrez summary - the following is the summary from its human ortholog ENSG00000120690:
This gene encodes an E26 transformation-specific related transcription factor. The encoded protein is primarily expressed in lymphoid cells and acts as both an enhancer and a repressor to regulate transcription of various genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2009]
